Status update
Published March 11th, 2009 in PostThe original plan was - move to new job, then buy a computer to develop on (as I didn’t want to send my old one to Singapore), then resume posting.
This was a reasonably good plan, but unfortunately Ksatria’s financial backing started to falter then eventually died and the company went under. It’s a shame because the game was looking very good. At the moment I’m still in Singapore. I’ve had a few queries about possible positions here and back in the UK. In the immediate future I’ll be returning to the UK. If you think you might have an opening for me my cv is here
I’ve turned off comments for the moment as I have 40k+ of spam comments awaiting moderation. Before I turn comments back on I need to do something to stop that. Possibly I need to update wordpress too, or change to a different framework. Small steps first though.
I’m on a netbook at the moment (Samsung’s NC10, I recommend it, it’s been great). So I’ve not been doing much developing. I have installed netbeans and Ruby just to play around with the language. A lot of my spare time I’ve been studying Japanese - I’d say I’m finally at a conversational level now - and improving daily.
Working with kjAPI at Kstaria has definitely given me some ideas for things I’d like to try with my own C# projects but all that will be onhold until I’m settled somewhere - hopefully more permanently this time
While I’m handling the comment situation I can be contacted here dan@[the current site's domain name]
